Unless by "leave" he meant something else!
That would be more likely to happen to me lol!

That trip she’s planning for the Grand Canyon when I retire is kind of suspect now that you say it.😥

Good info.
As I am retiring soon, I have wondered what to do with my 401k. Roth conversion? So you'd pay tax now to move the money, but not when you eventually withdraw it?
Also, that widowers option bothers me. That is a huge loss, much more than what he was estimating. Here, we lose well over $1000 per MONTH.
I guess I should go see an advisor. Looked at this guys site, but he's in Ohio. Road trip? I dont think so, need someone in Mass.
My plan has a 10 year guaranteed pay out. We went for the single annuity choice but I have 3 life insurance policies. Only way that option works. If my wife passes before me I could cancel.

On the pension estimate i got last year was

10 year certain was about 3%
50% was 8%

75% was 12%
And 100% was 16%

Approximately

A lot has to do with your age and also your spouse's age

Here your wife has to agree and sign off on that option, so you'd better kill her first if it's the same for you.
If you lay out the math it makes sense. When we start they don’t tell you about the survivorship discount…..you are in survival mode.
