Again...does it ever end? More tax dollars going to illegals and in the pockets of con artists:
ICE: "Sham" University, Cover For Illegals

Officials with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) say every year, they bust hundreds of schools that served as fronts for illegal immigration operations, leaving thousands of foreign nationals who've paid tuition in exchange for a student visa in the lurch, while the head of the "school" often winds up forfeiting property, or, behind bars.
The latest example appears to come from the San Francisco Bay Area: Tri-Valley University based in Pleasanton. Federal prosecutors say it wasn't a school at all- rather an elaborate scheme to defraud the government, and perhaps the biggest scam of its kind.

Immigration Sweep Nets 83 Arrests in 2 Days

PHOENIX – The office of an Arizona sheriff known for his efforts against illegal immigrants has arrested 83 people during a two-day crime sweep targeting illegal immigrants.
Of those arrested, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said Saturday that 68 were illegal immigrants. Those who were not illegal immigrants were arrested for crimes including drug possession and theft.
The sheriff's office seized 725 pounds (330 kilograms) of marijuana and some methamphetamine during the operation, which ended Friday. It was the office's 18th such sweep.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio says his office's 17 previous sweeps resulted in more than 1,000 arrests. He says a recent rise in the number of human smuggling arrests prompted another sweep.

Three Illegal Immigrants Accused in Death of American Teen Surrender in Arizona

Three Mexican men who were wanted for the murder of an American teenager have turned themselves in at an Arizona border crossing point, Reuters reports.
U.S. officers tell Reuters that Orel Vasquez, 20, Christian Vasquez, 26, and Juan Leon, 29, turned themselves in Saturday for the 2009 murder of 15-year-old Brenda Arenas of Tucson.
Arenas was shot in the head during a botched carjacking and died in her mother's arms.
The U.S. Customs and Borders Protection agency took the three into custody.
All three men were in the U.S. illegally.

Texas DPS Warns Against Mexico Travel

DPS warns against Mexico travel

AUSTIN, Texas —
Citing the death of a missionary earlier this week, the Texas Department of Public Safety has warned Texans to avoid traveling in Mexico.
The warning, issued Friday, is the fourth in the last year.
Missionary Nancy Davis, 59, was killed earlier this week. The DPS also cited the shooting of an American on the Mexican side of Falcon Lake in late September, the killing of a University of Texas-Brownsville student in October and the suspected abduction of four men from San Marcos and a 14-year-old from Chicago who were visiting Nuevo Laredo in late November.
“We know that many of our Winter Texans enjoy traveling to Mexico, but they should understand that we cannot guarantee their safety after they cross the border,” said Steven C. McCraw, DPS director.

"Fathom the odd hypocrisy that the government wants every citizen to prove they are insured, but people don't have to prove they are citizens".

53 Killed in 72 Hours in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

Even by Juarez standards, a deadly 72 hours

By Nick Valencia and Arturo Chacon,
(CNN) —
Fifty-three people were killed in a 72-hour span in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, making it one of the deadliest three-day periods in recent memory, state attorney general’s office spokesman Arturo Sandoval told CNN Sunday.
Among the dead were four police officers from three different agencies, Sandoval said.
“This is the worst violence we’ve seen this year,” he said, referring to the three days from Thursday through Saturday.
The bloodshed started on Thursday with 14 people killed, including a municipal police officer.
Friday was the most violent day, leaving 20 people dead. A municipal police officer was killed by an assassin who belonged to a band of carjackers. Hours later, a state police investigator was executed on his drive home.
On Saturday, a highway police officer was killed by a driver who confronted the patrolman after the officer gave him a ticket. The officer was shot 10 times at close range in the middle of the afternoon. In all, 19 people were killed that day in separate shootings throughout the city.
Elsewhere Sunday, Mexico’s Public Security Secretariat reported that 13 taxi drivers were killed in the resort town of Acapulco in a rash of violence that began early Friday.
