Arizona's anti-imigration law...

Für Meno :)
Try driving anywhere without your driver's license....I dare u !!

Done it before, even the whole day in a UPS truck.

Got caught once, back in the 90's.
Was a $50 fine back then.

What do they do in the states ?
Our cops have onboard computers... they have your file, your pic, etc...

If you lose your Driver's licence here or it expires, you actually just get a replacement piece of paper with no photo (which I only had, when I applied at UPS.
Because, they came out with new secure DL's, and you no longer can get it within the day.

It's all good enough these days.

It was not a win for Obama and it was not a win for the gov.

This is a very bad ruling for Obama. Possibly the least desirable outcome they could have imagined. The Obama administration will now be blamed for every crime an illegal immigrant commits, not to mention the hospital troubles, and the troubles they create in the local educational systems. If the law were allowed to have been enacted and then overturned this would have given the administration some outs and at least some "victims" to point to. Politically this is a huge loss for Obama.

Now the fun begins. Will people sue for states enforcement of bankruptcy laws? Also I think we will see multiple states now enact Arizona type laws just to ensure the issue makes the Supreme Court.

Judge Bolton gave an injunction to the most controversial parts of the law, including the most racist. Most people in favor and against SB1070 consider it a victory from the Federal Government, since that’s what the Feds were looking for. They were looking for an injunction, which they got. The parts that were allowed were ruled under the knowledge of Judge Susan Bolton, and she didn’t consider that these parts preempted Federal Laws. So the injunction the Feds were looking for was achieved after all. And I’m glad some people in favor of SB1070 are happy with the new implementation, because the top guys are not much. Although some people do like the new law, that doesn’t mean that these passed statutes will definitely stay on the books.
The part I still see a bit flawed, which was passed, was the Citizen or Agency Suit Provision. But as Sexy Brewer said, “this is just the beginning of the battle.” Some other lawsuit might infringe that part. However, that provision is not as burdensome with the injunction of the key parts granted by Judge Susan Bolton.

if so then the judge did not give any injunctions since there werent any parts that were racist.

Well, it's all over, the Arizona Bill has been blocked and declared illegal.
It's up to the Feds to implement immigration (federal) laws.
Which will now probably never happen, since that takes 60% of the house to vote upon.
Can never get Reps and Dems to agree on anything.

Figures why the USA is falling further and futher behind in the world.

Wondering if tent-city is comming down today or tomorrow, too ?

"All inmates booked into Orange County jails will have their immigration status checked through a fingerprint identification program that started Tuesday."

"Orange County joins 11 other California counties -- including Los Angeles, San Diego and Ventura -- that have started checking the status of inmates against a federal database as part of a national program to identify and deport undocumented immigrants who land in jail."

The fact that there are drug fights 100 miles INSIDE the United States border should be frightening to you.......but I guess if you're nowhere near the border, then you think it's silly. :sad-little:

I'm not kidding. You're trying to make a national tragedy into a political weapon against Obama. When we get serious about securing the border and paying for it with blood and treasure, we might get somewhere. Until then, both parties can bathe in the blood of our citizens knowing that the problem is solveable, the politics is not.

  • Violent crime rates have risen under Arpaio’s watch while they have fallen throughout the rest of Arizona.
  • Arpaio’s department has not served over 40,000 felony warrants.
  • Arpaio has been suspected of misspending $50 million in taxpayer funds and refused to turn over his records for an investigation.
  • Over 2,700 lawsuits have been filed against Arpaio. (What the heck!? I thought they were 270, damn!)
  • Evidence exists that Arpaio forced an undocumented mother to give birth while handcuffed to a bed.
  • And many many more on the link provided.

Bed-Wetting Lefty of the Day…

Fun fact: He’s actually crying because the cop told him he’d be out of jail in only two hours, crushing his dreams of being a jailhouse bitch..

A demonstrator cries as he is arrested during a protest against Arizona’s controversial Senate Bill 1070 immigration law outside Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s office in Phoenix July 29, 2010. (Reuters)

Immigration protesters try to close Tucson freeway with tar, tires
Traffic on Interstate 19 was briefly disrupted south of Ajo Way this morning after a group of protesters placed tar and tires on the highway.
A group calling itself “Freedom for Arizona” said it planned to cover the southbound lanes of I-19 with tires covered in tar and broken glass to shut down “the very road that is used to deport people deemed ‘illegal’ as well as a direct disruption of the flow of capital,” the group said in a news release.
Law enforcement officials have cleaned up the tires and reopened the interstate, according to the Department of Public Safety.

54% Favor Justice Department Action Against Sanctuary Cities
Fifty-four percent (54%) of U.S. voters say the Justice Department should take legal action against cities that provide sanctuary for illegal immigrants. Even more think the federal government should cut off funds to these “sanctuary cities.”
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 30% say the federal government should not take legal action against cities that offer illegal immigrants various forms of sanctuary. Fifteen percent (15%) more are not sure.
The findings are in sharp contrast to voter attitudes about the Justice Department’s decision to challenge a new law in Arizona that attempts to help enforce federal immigration law. Fifty-six percent (56%) oppose the Justice Department’s decision to challenge the legality of Arizona’s new immigration law in federal court. Sixty-one percent (61%), in fact, favor passage of a law like Arizona’s in their own state.
