Are you -u-king kidding me
*you're*Dodging the question. Nice. You can tell your a married guy.
I find that I get shunned by most all the other tractor trailer drivers.Do feeder drivers wave at other tractor trailers (even non UPS ones)?
Why,I find that I get shunned by most all the other tractor trailer drivers.
There are 2 separate brakes on the trailer, the air brakes and the mechanical spring brakes. Putting air to the trailer (red valve) releases the spring brakes, while using the hand valve (or the brake pedal) engages the air brakes. That's why you do a tug test and a hand valve test. The tug test checks the spring brakes (in addition to verifying your couple) while the hand valve test checks your air brakes. When you hook up to a trailer, the brakes are locked. When you add the air to the trailer (push in the red valve), that releases the brakes, which causes the trailer to move slightly. Then, when you turn the hand valve down, you re-engage the trailer brakes. So when you release the hand valve, it unlocks the trailer brakes again, usually bouncing the trailer slightly. If you think about it, the same basic thing happens in a car when you engage and un-engage the parking brake, just less so. Also, the same thing happens to the back box of a set, when you're hooking up, if you turn your red valve before the blue valve, which we're trained not to do. It's a little unnerving if you turn that red valve first and see that back box move up on you. But same idea; by adding air to the back box, you're releasing the brakes.
No, but not fat either. There just seems to be a general "UPS feeder drivers suck" attitude from other truck drivers. Maybe we get paid so well and they don't? I don't know. Why,
Are you skinny
Just about anyone will talk to you. You just have to initiate the conversation. They are regular people just like you.No, but not fat either. There just seems to be a general "UPS feeder drivers suck" attitude from other truck drivers. Maybe we get paid so well and they don't? I don't know.
You can always lose weight but once your knees go and need to be replaced you're screwed.Dodging the question. Nice. You can tell your a married guy.
We don't buy fuel. We don't maintain our trucks. We get paid by the hour and get overtime after 8. We have extremely good benefits and a pension. There's a lot for other truckers to hate. No, but not fat either. There just seems to be a general "UPS feeder drivers suck" attitude from other truck drivers. It's way more than initiating talk that I notice. When the truck in front of you passes another truck and that guy flashes him when he passes letting him back in then you pass the same guy and he doesn't flash you or you flash someone in and they don't give you the courtesy flash back makes you wonder. I see this nightly.Just about anyone will talk to you. You just have to initiate the conversation. They are regular people just like you.
That's what I think also. What pisses me off is I worked hard and long to get where I'm at, these 's if they don't like what I got. They could have applied like I did years ago and put in their time.We don't buy fuel. We don't maintain our trucks. We get paid by the hour and get overtime after 8. Yep. The last thing I want to do in the middle of the night is wave at someone anyway. That's what I think also. What pisses me off is I worked hard and long to get where I'm at, these 's if they don't like what I got. They could have applied like I did years ago and put in their time.

Middle finger?
I hear ya.Yep. The last thing I want to do in the middle of the night is wave at someone anyway.
Try backing trailers at some of these smaller hubs. I think most ups feeder drivers are the best there is.Had a driver tell me that ups feeder drivers weren't real truck drivers , said we were softies cause we don't pedal freight and had it easy !! Lol
God help one of those jackbags if they spewed that crap to me. I'd be more than happy to explain what 25 years of package delivery was like and let them choke on that.Had a driver tell me that ups feeder drivers weren't real truck drivers , said we were softies cause we don't pedal freight and had it easy !!
