Section 8 housing is not that cheap in my state.
Where is it 40 dollars a month? I’m not denying it, it’s just astronomically cheaper than what we have
Section 8 housing (vouchers) here cost on average $400/month and the wait list is 34 months long. You have to make less than $13k/yr to qualify.

How much rent do you pay if you live in Section 8, HUD Housing, Public Housing, Rural Rental Assistance, or have a Housing Voucher?

The simple answer is: You pay 30% of your income. Your income is $100, you pay $30. Your income is $1,000, you pay $300. Done!
