Used to be a regular thing to bonus but now only a few routes still bonus. Most are an hour or more over. You are doing great just to scratch.Happens here as well. Hard to make that much bonus here any more though lol
You can to. Just start your own business, build a customer base with enough density to make $100 an hr, and then subtract all your expenses and overhead from that $100.the black kid down the road makes $100 an hr mowing grass
I want that jobthe black kid down the road makes $100 an hr mowing grass
Same here. Everybody made an hour or more but not anymore.Used to be a regular thing to bonus but now only a few routes still bonus. Most are an hour or more over. You are doing great just to scratch.
The answer is an 8 hour day in return for lower pay. It'll never happen, because drivers are addicted to the dough and the OT. Their ex-wives need to get paid. And their out of wedlock kids.
An 8 hour day at 30/hr and I'd start driving right now.
But the rest of my life matters too much to make the sacrifice of missing my entire kids' childhoods or messing up my marriage. No thanks to 50 hours + commute, let alone 60 hours. Screw that.
8 hours mandate for all 5 days is the only thing I'd take to go driving.
So, I love PT.
I am. But if FT work were compatible with family life, I might do it.Hol up I thought you were here just for the benes
yes, because all those drivers are already in debt up to their eyeballs and have no other options to pay them. So, they'll never accept better working conditions in return for stagnant or lesser pay. I would. No that won't ever happen, and I wouldn't want it to. With inflation right now no way we should be giving money back for any reason. I bet you wouldn't find but a handful of drivers if any who would take a payout for less hours.
Glad PT works for you
My building has many 8 hour only 22.3 jobs. Most are Midnight/preload jobs but at $35/hr it is life altering income.I am. But if FT work were compatible with family life, I might do it.
And also if my other day job had not become so successful.
My point is that FT work would be much more attractive to me, and others, with lower pay and lower hours. The union will never argue for that.
Yeah, I'd take that or think about it. It's amazing. My building has many 8 hour only 22.3 jobs. Most are Midnight/preload jobs but at $35/hr it is life altering income.
In my building it only takes a couple years seniority. But of course they don't come up very often. Most higher seniority PT have already found their niche in life.Yeah, I'd take that or think about it. It's amazing.
But 20 years PT isn't enough seniority here to get one.

As a family man, I'd consider anything more than a regular 8 hour day to be bad working conditions. A 9 hour day is pushing it.Honestly I don't find the working conditions that bad. But I know some buildings have it a lot worse than we do. I think it's very much a matter of your personal opinion and location.
It feels kinda weird to bid as a 20 year guy who might as well be new.In my building it only takes a couple years seniority. But of course they don't come up very often. Most higher seniority PT have already found their niche in life.
Friend of mine with 20+years PT just bid a new twi/midnight 22.3 job. Told him you are now considered a new FT employee with zero seniority. 8 and skate is what he told me.It feels kinda weird to bid as a 20 year guy who might as well be new.
Most of our 22.3's go home any chance they get, so the company doesn't provide new ones, because their argument is that the 22.3's we have don't work 8 hours.Friend of mine with 20+years PT just bid a new twi/midnight 22.3 job. $100/hr is not uncommon at all for folks that include materials costs and have free inspections/quotes and the time/cost of providing mobile service. You can to. Just start your own business, build a customer base with enough density to make $100 an hr, and then subtract all your expenses and overhead from that $100.
Shhhh we are supposed to be miserable slaves, negotiations are coming up.When I delivered for Amazon I actually enjoyed it and found it fun, especially during peak. Wore a Santa hat, and made people and kids smile. Realized I can make this a career here. Not to mention seeing all the funny things people do while on route.
That’s because you are a weak man with womanly hands and no spine that blocked me.yes, because all those drivers are already in debt up to their eyeballs and have no other options to pay them. So, they'll never accept better working conditions in return for stagnant or lesser pay. I would.
