I always check for ticks if I have been an area likely to have them (like tall grass). Found ticks several times but before they had enough time to burrow in. You can tuck pants legs inside socks to help keep out ticks if you are in a high risk area. Deer ticks are worse than dog ticks.

Mn. is tick country. Its not a good summer if you don't find a few of them dug in. Knock on wood--no Lymes in my house yet but I do know probably a dozen people who are dealing with it. The big juicy ones about the size of a grape that you pick off dogs are the best.
