I've heard....my cat had a heart attack...I locked my work boots in a closet and had to miss 3 days of work because my landlord was out of town, and he had the key...lol

fell asleep in my recliner and my back is stiff. If I come in I may injure myself. I even offered to do light work. Also my sewer line backed up and I had turds floating in my basement. They were not happy with either one of those

I called in once while at a casino. My wife told me you might want to go out in the parking garage when you call. You don't want the dispatcher to hear the ding! ding! noises in the background.
They try too.....I just say....sick...n...click...lol

Calling in sick at 2am from a bar....lol...
Some years back. The 4th of July was on a Thursday....I was being a ...dick....called my Sup Friday morning. Said this is Ive,calling off sick!....HE WENT OFF! then he said why are you calling off?
I said was out drinking to 4 a.m.....can't drive!
He screamed on the phone, for a good 5 minutes.....Then it got all quiet.
I said are you finished screaming at me? he said Yes.
I said o.k. see you at work in about an hour!
He didn't talk to me for almost a month!...lol

My sup often asks why I can't come in. Most times I say I'm sick and can't make it. Sometimes I try to make them understand one of my kids is sick and I have to take care of them. Family comes first.
One time I called in from the duck blind. Had a pintail land in the decoys while I was on the phone with the boss. My brother was pissed when I whispered to him "Don't shoot!!"

See I knew you had a story..lol. Few years ago...the 4th was on a monday...I put for personals that tuesday and wednesday...I had plans for the weekend out of state. My personal days got denied but I went to Florida anyway...I'd already bought the tickets.... and called in sick that Tuesday and Wednesday. I told my boss I'd be back to work Thursday, but then it was a problem with my flight back to NY so I missed Thursday also...lol. My center manager answered the phone ranting and raving and threatening to suspend me....but I never got so much as a warning letter for that...lol.

I don't give a reason either but they get flustered when I book off because for some reason there is only one cover guy trained on my route. Not my problem.
I rember some years ago, had a Sup from Hell!..Gave me a hard time whenever I called off!.I called in one time, he gave me the riot act.......} said this is Ive, you are driving me friggin nutz!...I really don't think you want me to come in today! =o.k....click!...lmfao
