Major property insurance companies are reducing coverage in a number of states or leaving them altogether as losses mount, and consumers are seeing their coverage yanked.
The governor's office says that in 2019, 8.6% of property insurance claims in the U.S. were filed in Florida, yet 76.45% of all property insurance litigation in the U.S. occurred in the state.
The governor's office has emphasized that it will take time for Florida's recent reforms to kick in, but in the meantime, annual property insurance premiums have soared, jumping 42% this year to $6,000 in the state, compared to the national average of $1,700. Roughly 15% of homeowners in Florida don't have property insurance, more than twice the national average of 7%, according to the Insurance Information Institute.

Just opened a nuclear power plant in Georgia. First one in 30 years I believe in the U.S. If the science is settled, if emissions really do have to be greatly reduced, we won't get there without nuclear. You're just going to have to live with it.
the science is settled although it was interesting how it played out during covid just the same as climate catastrophe with warring sides down the political line.

It's the first in 30 years because the Left has been fighting it. Meanwhile the nuclear plants we do have do an excellent job producing electricity.
