You have a huge build up of fuel and insist on putting out fires immediately. Eventually you get an explosion of fire that's hard to control. In nature lightning causes fires that burns off underbrush on occasion which naturally manages the forest. And of course with these super fires the environmentalists claim it's due to climate change.
