We had a couple of people take leaves of absence when it first started. One ended up leaving the company, the other stayed out long enough to use up their vacation and retire.
I figured as much, but why not cut him/her loose??? If they haven't been heard from in a month they don't want to work and there's not point keeping them on the roster.
