Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson contracted COVID-19 overseas and brought the virus into Australia, health authorities say, before potentially exposing hundreds of fans they came into contact with.

Hanks and Wilson, both 63, are in a stable conditions at Gold Coast University Hospital, where they will spend the next 14 days in quarantine.

Here's what's wrong in this situation. Because Hanks is a celebutard, he and the wife get immediately tested and go straight to a top notch hospital, even though they have mild symptoms.

In the US, if you're just Joe Average, you need to have bad symptoms to even get tested, much less be admitted and get superior care.

Racist, sir. 1,000 people have now died in Italy from the "common cold". S. Korea has a far superior testing system that has kept death rates below 1%.

Time to remove politics from the equation and deal with the virus effectively. We can argue ideology AFTER Coronavirus is eradicated.

Grow up.
“We can argue ideology after all the Jews are dead.”

grow up sir.

Yes indeed.

A country off 300 million and we have 38-40 deaths, most of them, 1 nursing home in Seattle. The guy that died in NJ had one foot in the grave already.

Generally speaking if you get this virus and have problems and end up in the ICU and can get o2 or a ventilator with viral meds you'll probably live. But that is not the biggest threat of this virus. This virus overwhelms the medical system and is exactly what were seeing in Italy right now. The vast number that end up in ICU take all the resources and limited beds and the ones left waiting are how the number of dead add up. The same thing will shortly happen in the US. This is just beginning still.

About a decade ago I heard that some record and concert promoter offered ABBA 600 million dollars to reunite and perform a limited number of concert engagements........They turned him down...... I guess that they just didn't need money all that badly and so it just wasn't worth the aggravation .

So your TDS is also so bad you think we're less equipped to deal with this than Polio.

You guys need to see a therapist.
No joke.
Yup. We'll have hundred of thousands of tests available, like tomorrow.....amirite?
At present, the U.S. has conducted just 11,000 tests in total—to put that figure in perspective, South Korea is said to be testing 10,000 people per day, and China has likely tested millions by now. Yesterday, in the U.S. the CDC apparently conducted zero tests:

For six weeks behind the scenes, and now increasingly in public, Trump has undermined his administration’s own efforts to fight the coronavirus outbreak—resisting attempts to plan for worst-case scenarios, overturning a public-health plan upon request from political allies and repeating only the warnings that he chose to hear. Members of Congress have grilled top officials like Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and Centers for Disease Control Director Robert Redfield over the government’s biggest mistake: failing to secure enough testing to head off a coronavirus outbreak in the United States. But many current and former Trump administration officials say the true management failure was Trump’s. “It always ladders to the top,” said one person helping advise the administration’s response, who noted that Trump’s aides discouraged Azar from briefing the president about the coronavirus threat back in January. “Trump’s created an atmosphere where the judgment of his staff is that he shouldn’t need to know these things.”
