"Claim: A Facebook post claims to contain the list of side effects of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

Rating: FALSE

Why we fact-checked this: The Facebook post containing the claim has 317 shares, 20 comments, and 34 reactions as of writing.

The post claims that Pfizer just released a list of side effects of its COVID-19 vaccine. It then proceeds to enumerate over 40 alleged side effects, including heart failure, liver damage, and pneumonia, among others.

The facts: The alleged list of side effects documented in the post is different from the official list of risks and side effects associated with the vaccine.

According to the medical information published by Pfizer on its website, the vaccine’s side effects include the following:

  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Non-severe allergic reactions such as rash, itching, hives, or swelling of the face
  • Myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle)
  • Pericarditis (inflammation of the lining outside the heart)
  • Injection site reactions: pain, swelling, redness, arm pain
  • General side effects: tiredness, headache, muscle pain, chills, joint pain, fever, nausea, feeling unwell, swollen lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy), decreased appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness
  • Fainting in association with injection of the vaccine"

Thanks for warning us of all the fake news out there. Better get that latest booster!

Yep it’s safe and effective. Better get that 5th booster to be safe. 🤣

Just pointing out that the Facebook post seems to have some incorrect information.

Did they fact check against the original posted side effects or the latest revised list?

Was the original list of side effects longer or something? Did they ever include all 40 listed in the Facebook post?

You take your chances and I'll take mine. If I was you I would get that latest booster just to make sure. How many boosters are we up to now? This last one has to be the one that will do it.

Hope you’re not taking my posting of the fact check as a defense of the vaccine. It’s not. Just pointing out that a list of anything can be posted anywhere.

If I had any question I would get that latest booster. better safe than sorry. How could it hurt?

The officially listed side effects seem like enough reason to not want to get the vaccine/boosters. Especially if you’re not particularly vulnerable to COVID to begin with.

Just reconsidered what you might have been asking here. A lot of people probably wouldn’t have chosen to receive the vaccine had the now officially listed side effects been known in 2020-21.

Actually, most people were shamed or threatened into believing there was no side effects of any kind, and that it was 98% effective.
