What Bill fails to highlight here is all the good epidemics do for those that survive. Rent goes down, wages go up. Higher standards of living. This flu seems to have a controlled burning type effect built in as well. It’s taking out the boomers, imagine if you will, a thread that doesn’t devolve into god hates fags.

We should all listen to Bill Gates more. Gates' nightmare scenario wasn't an earthquake or nuclear war, it was a widespread pandemic worse than ebola. This video was made in 2015.

Too bad he wasn't in charge of our response mechanism. One of his best points regards mobility, which wasn't nearly as much of a factor as today. In 1918, it would have taken someone literally weeks to get to the US from Asia or some other outbreak spot.His second great point is how badly we've underfunded epidemic/pandemic preparedness vs. military spending.
