302 dead now. In NY state 54% of infected are 24-50. The sky is falling!

and the very vast majority of those 54% who are 24-50 are going to be just fine. No one said younger people don't get infected (almost everyone will be in the next 12 to 18 months) they are saying the younger folks wont get as sick and that it most likely wont be fatal. you do know almost 3 million people die every year in this country?

Here’s a prediction for you guys. In the next two weeks, the Deep South states are going to get blasted. Having a huge daily increase in infected.

Is it possible that you are underestimating the severity of this virus?

I think it's really serious. But also that US healthcare capacity isn't nearly what the dotted line on the chart indicates. Think that line is much lower. So I hope we're not shutting everything down only to be flooded with severe cases that can't be handled anyway. There's gotta be a massive increase in capacity every day the economy is shut down or the shut down isn't gonna make a big difference.

Americans aren't going to be willing to stay in their houses for months on end. Might have to go for herd immunity if it becomes clear that even more Americans would die as a result of a severe depression than would if we lock the older folks up and try to live life.

So if it fizzles by May?
What are the political implications?
