There is a "such thing as a conservative", I do understand why you do not think they may not exist.
Repubicans are lied to each election by politicians running for office, one or two may be truthful.
Many "conservative" voters are that up to the point that they need something from the federal government.

True conservatives are hard to find.

I would also assume that those under 50 had underlying health conditions, as well as a good portion of those over 50. The sky is not falling
