I think the mask thing plays to the extremes on both sides. On the hard left, you'd better be wearing a mask while taking a 150 miles away from anyone. On the hard right you'd better not be wearing one at all or we'll all point and laugh at you. All about virtue signaling that you're part of your respective pack or tribe.
