I think the mask thing plays to the extremes on both sides. On the hard left, you'd better be wearing a mask while taking a :censored2: 150 miles away from anyone. On the hard right you'd better not be wearing one at all or we'll all point and laugh at you. All about virtue signaling that you're part of your respective pack or tribe.
I'm not opposed to wearing a mask I wear a mask because I have family members who are very susceptible and have underlying conditions or age. it's the responsible thing for a citizen to do to take the information and make the best decision for their family .however mandating that everyone wears a mask is a violation of our individual rights and our principles as a country and it does very little to actually encourage support once you mandate something you create resentment and rebellion.

It's been about 2 weeks since we've seen the surge and the deaths have not caught up. The reason the deaths have not caught up is because it's a bunch of 21-year-olds going to the beach and the bars and and parties that are getting all of these cases
And the "surge" is mostly because of more testing finding more cases. While deaths are dropping but that isn't a number the media wants to mention.

So you believe in the effectiveness of masks but wouldn't normally wear one if not for vulnerable family members because you're a rebellious teenager and your parents have told you to wear one?

Say you didn't have vulnerable family members. Do other peoples' vulnerable family members not matter? They matter to me.

I have no problem wearing a mask where social distancing isn't possible.

Everything where social distancing isn't possible has been closed and cancelled.

Hence, I don't see the need to wear a mask.

I am envious If your essential grocery and home improvement stores are adequately socially distancing.
