Yeah, Andrew Cuomo really should do better than 32,147 dead and counting in New York.

Oops, I mean Trump. All Trump's fault.
trump had his head in the sand. as did cuomo. who has ultimate authority over the state of NY in this situation? trump or cuomo? regardless they are both crooks, and his crook brother has a show on tv.

Most of us are old enough to remember Obama’s handling of H1N1 and ebola. He had a plan and contained those viruses. Trump’s plan was pretend it wasn’t happening so Governors had no choice but to take charge. Without any federal leadership the response has been chaotic and inconsistent resulting in the US having the worst outbreak in the western world. There’s a reason 70ish% of voters have more faith that Biden will handle the pandemic better than Trump.
Federal leadshiphas been much better than the Obama administration. Trump took some very decisive action that had people amazed like when he shut down the traffic lane from China and then in Europe later on so Trump's leadership has been very strong you cannot rewrite history just to make a political argument

AND THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE
borderline TDS but really its all about politics at this point. You guys argued for letting the states control the covid reopening in may . now you want to blame Trump for the resurgence. is your logic TDS , probably

your other argument is that we need a national plan.

a) you have one that CDC put out in May and updates constantly.
b) you argued against presidential oversight of a plan and argued for the governors managing their own states in may.

you're slinging :censored2: to just to sling it
“You guys”
😂
Not everybody who doesn’t support trump is a democrat liberal
Believe it or not

So much for herd immunity. We're all pretty much :censored2:ed.
I don’t think the antibody tests are terribly accurate. These articles seem designed to scare us, no one knows for sure how long immunity lasts. There’s not much reason to believe this corona virus would be that much different than every other one.

You mean like every other coronavirus in that there is no vaccine for any of them?

There’s not really any reason to believe immunity will be different. It’s an unknown and to me it seems like articles that claim there won’t be any lasting immunity are just looking for clicks and to scare people.
Scientists at UCSF have switched their focus to treatments rather than vaccines. That's not a scare tactic but a reality of the current data.

wingnut talking point

Recent studies suggest the opposite has occurred. In the first 3 months of the US coronavirus epidemic, the number of excess deaths in the United States was 122,300, 28% higher than the reported number of COVID-19 deaths, according to an observational study published July 1 in JAMA Internal Medicine.

I'm sure @Old Man Jingles can state what type of logical fallacy allocating excess deaths to COVID-19 is. A large portion, or maybe all, are possibly attributable to the over response to COVID. How many are because 'elective' medical procedures weren't completed for cancer, heart conditions, etc.? How many are due to overdose or mental health condition exacerbated by shutdowns? How many are due to violence associated with job loss and shut downs? How many are due to the rise in traffic deaths during the COVID response?

Rise in traffic deaths? That would surprise me, there’s been much less traffic for months now.

oops - only higher in some states. It was the fatality rate that was higher nationally.

Bizarre

“Disturbingly, we have open lanes of traffic and an apparent open season on reckless driving,” said Lorraine M. Martin, NSC president and CEO.

People are dumb.

"The team tested subjects who recovered from COVID-19 and found the presence of SARS-CoV-2-specific T cells in all of them, which suggests that T cells play an important role in this infection. Importantly, the team showed that patients who recovered from SARS 17 years ago after the 2003 outbreak, still possess virus-specific memory T cells and displayed cross-immunity to SARS-CoV-2."
