So you're going to destroy everyone's retirement future to pay down the debt? You want government to run up the debt paying for vast social programs but take away the retirement funds of the hard working people who's taxes helped fund those programs? Luckily senior citizens are one of the most active voting blocs. And since there are so many boomers doubt you'll ever have the influence to end SS while we're alive.

SS is a line item that is taken out of everyone's check, or a payment they make. Medicaid is a current hand out that goes, in large part to people that don't work. Medicare is for seniors, medicaid is for indigent care.

And that's definitely an issue that needs to be addressed. Bbsam's issue with it is two parts I'm guessing. First he doesn't want to pay the matching funds. Second he knows too many people who won't get much of a SS check because they didn't put in that much work. If they're not getting it he has no problem taking from those who are(to fund the lives of those who don't want to work much).
