Too bad he couldn't be prosecuted for his pedophilia and molestation. They were expecting 6 months for the money laundering charges, and he got 15. A reporter made an excellent point that Denny victimized Individual A again when he tried to convince investigators he was being blackmailed. Hastert had agreed to the payment plan, and is being sued so he will be required to pay the remaining $1.7M due.

Question: Does Hastert go to Hell, or has Jeebus forgiven him? What about his other victims?

His confession during the trial is quite meaningful .
Now that it is public record , paying off his blackmailer is moot .
That's $1.7M less attorney fees he gets to keep .
It does not matter if his blackmailer sues him in a civil matter , because the IRS will be going after him for failure to pay taxes on any funds already received .
In reality Hastert has a great lawyer .
