Do you need an air compressor or tire gauge
When economic investors are worried it's never good. You can spin it however you want but almost 2,000 down in two days it's not a good thing.
it is when your up 8000 points in a year, you can go 8 years without getting that kind of streak

what about them, my girlfriend got a raise and 1000 dollar bonus because of them
If the economy is not as good as advertised, either the company will find a way to claw it back in the next 5 years or inflation and interest rates will make both meaningless.

As much as you claim financial knowledge, I’d think you’d recognize these things.

the economy is not going well for workers.

it would be interesting to know how this sell off relates to previous sell offs when you adjust for stock prices.

seems pretty big, max keiser was comparing it to 1987 wall street sell off.

With all the financial expertise he has, I wonder why he isn't retired on some island rather than working PT at UPS.

Yeah uhhhh no

Actually... in part, he’s right. Only in part, though. Low unemployment and upward wage pressure is scaring investors with concern about higher inflation expectations leading to higher interest rates which result in higher equity prices, making them less attractive. The markets react to expectations.

I would argue the market was overpriced and basically looking for any reason at all to correct.

Dow closes down nearly 1,200 points after plunging more than 1,500 points in volatile trading
The stock market has lost $1 trillion in value in the first five days of February

That's bad economic data coming out.
It's a reaction to the Feds declaring they will be easing up Interest Rates.
As interest rates go up, so does inflation.
As a retiree whose pension has no COLA, I've enjoyed the last 10 years of zero inflation ... not looking to normal inflation.
Inflation will most likely half my buying power of my pension over the next 10 years.
We'll see.

The markets already knew our interest rates were rising. I think reality hit when the last jobs report came out... super low unemployment and rising wages and therefore inflation pressure.

We’ll be ok.

I think people were looking for an excuse to take their profits from last couple of years, and the drop last Friday just began to snowball.

It is like the guy at a poker table who has been on a good run. As soon as he takes a bad beat, he cashes out and heads for the door to protect his profit.
