Some might say it but it was demonstrably true that the cuts increased government revenue under Trump. If the stock market is any indication I'm guessing that revenues are still up. Can't help that spending has continued to increase.

More positive numbers. PCE, personal income and employment numbers all positive for the Fed. The weighted S&P is showing signs that the other 493 companies are finding positive footing while the Russell also has broad support.

In his latest research report, Grantham focused on the extremely bullish sentiment of the U.S. stock market, underscored by the Shiller P/E Ratio — a key valuation measure for the S&P 500 — standing at 34 as of Mar. 1. This places it in the top 1% historically, a position Grantham views with caution due to the historical rarity of sustained market rallies from such a valuation.

“The only bull markets that continued up from levels like this were the last 18 months in Japan until 1989, and the U.S. tech bubble of 1998 and 1999, and we know how those ended,” he remarked.

Dow 40K today. With the Fed driving the narrative, investors will continue to feed the market. I'm most encouraged by the Russell as small to medium sized business stocks are showing strength as rates stabilize and cost of capital becomes more predictable.

I bond rates dropping below 4% in April will have some of that 8 trillion in securities entering the market. 2-3 rates cuts will further pressure investors out of fixed income.
