Probably didn't catch my addition to that post. It helps to know the context. Trump and the Dems agreed to a huge budget to get his military spending he wanted. And when they got complete power the Dems last year wanted over $5 trillion in spending. If the Dems got what they wanted would you think it was too much or would you defend it?
I've said over and over, spending is out of control. I can't defend any of it. 20 plus years of bad policies. Everyone knew the day was coming when the Fed had to remove themselves from propping up our economy. Today is that day.

Not according to Wikipedia. I do remember Trump getting his military spending by brokering a deal with the Dems.
I can't post it from my phone, but if you go to Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, the website explains how spending was secured from 2017-2020. Spending was passed without any Democratic votes through series of resolutions.

Nope. Trump angered a lot of Republicans by cutting a deal with the Dems. And that was before Dems took over the House in 2019. Trump had enough Republicans along with Dems getting his budget passed.

None of that money has been released and doesn't show on any charts yet. Spending many times doesn't show for months or even a year or more.
its committed spending.

i hope you wouldn't buy a company stock on july's earnings report without looking at the significant debt they committed to in August?

i agree 100 percent . It just seemed like you were trying to shine the democrats turd. the country trump and biden adminstration terms inclusive have committed to an ungodly amount of additional spending the past two years. I dont believe any projections that dont factor that in.

Couldn't agree with you more. Did you believe the 2017 tax cuts would pay for themselves?

I dont remember it being sold that way but I do remember the debate as to whether revenue would go up or down.

but to answer your question there was no plan to control or slow down spending in conjunction which is what was needed.
all they had to do was cap the increase in spending during that time not do the covid spending surge in 2020 and we would at least be balanced right now.

the problem as always is not enough voters care if there is a deficit but plenty do respond to the government throwing money at them.
