If Republicans maintain Congressional majorities in November, red states will immediately pass laws banning abortion and invite legal challenges so that the issue might work its way back up to the Supreme Court.

That would be awesome for two reasons. First of all, it would stimulate international tourism big time - when a rich girl “gets into trouble” it’s off to Paris for “spring break!” Second of all, it would be an incredible boost to the US economy - when a poor girl “gets into trouble” it’s off to a closet with a coat hanger. The sale of clothes hangers and other like products will go through the roof!

Agreed. Kennedy was mildly conservative but replacing him now won't change the court much. Its more about the long term implications.

Depends a bit on the replacement. If Trump picks another hardcore righty like Gorsuch it’s a bigger deal than if he picks a moderate. Probably won’t change many decisions either way though.
