Eccos are!!! You'll spend some coin but they are totally worth it... also I'm 235 and they are perfect for my knees

My understanding is its the material above the toe that would be polished. You wouldn't need to polish something under the laces up by the top of the shoe unless you're military.

You do not realize,how much you move your feet. until a peice of steel reminds you.
You "bend your feet all day. going up and down steps(including the package car).

Trust me,it was painful!

You're right..I love my steel toe boots for loading...but when I wear them on the road all day...they remind my legs and feet how heavy and rigid they are.

When I first went driving I wore my steel toes from inside. Those were the last steel toes I ever bought.
