That's why I hope the Democratic Presidential candidates will at least temper their positions from "No more private health insurance, period" to "Let's keep some private options like Canada, the UK and others have if we're going to do this thing."
I hope every soda they open is shaken up, I hope they stump their toe getting out of bed every morning, I hope they constantly have a pimple in their ear canal, I hope every green light turns red and they get a ticket in the mail, I hope every fart they have is loud and wet, I hope they never achieve what they are truly after.

Sure, I'll Ttku. Lmao. Medicare for all without the option to keep what you have if you like it or have another option other than the government makes sense. Keep on keeping on with your BIG ASS government.

Every other important developed nation has some sort of ‘universal’ healthcare, as well as private insurance for those who want/can afford it.

Honest question, do you not see room for improvement in our system?

Would you employ a financial advisor who took 30% off the top, gave you substandard returns, and called you a maroon?

I don't think anyone, including Bernie expects a true socialized healthcare system. But in any type of negotiation, you never ask for what you are willing to accept. You ask for the moon.

Guarantee if EW gets the nomination, she’ll back right down on some of her nonsense, it’s the game.

‘Upon further review’ etc.

Problem is, when Presidential candidates propose new policies or programs it's the voters they're negotiating with. And if you ask for the moon they might very well walk away from the table because the alternative is only a bubble fill mark or check box away.

Canada has both government provided and an option to purchase additional private insurance. Ttku.....
my buddys mom just got a pacemaker surgery. it was a bit of an emergency.

we need more coverage up here. i think the first 12 physio visits are covered by govt, and then my work insurance pays for part of every vist after that.

i broke my arm and paid for the cast or sling or something like that. it was $30 or so. they almost gave me next day surgery, but i changed their mind.

Yet, Medicare does quite well, how could this be?

The VA has a separate set of issues, but even they supply healthcare at a lower cost than than the bloated HC industry as a whole.

Yes, yes, Government sucks, I get it, but why in the world are we locked into a system that overcharges and under-delivers?

If you truly want Government out of healthcare, call your Congressman and tell them you want Medicare to be able to run like a free-market business and negotiate their drug-prices.

I get it you don’t like Government-run stuff, but this is the perfect example:

Healthcare in this country doesn’t work, not because Government is controlling it, but because lobbyists are dictating the terms.

It’s nonsense.

Yep, @tonyexpress is a hard working American that prepared himself (OK, OK ... it was actually @cheryl) for the future.

And that’s a fair distinction.

Half of America gets their health insurance through their employer.

Maybe they like it, maybe they don’t, but they have it.

I think that gets lost in the weeds sometimes, like who is Bernie talking to?

If you’re mad poor, you’re on the dole, but if you’re not poor and you make ‘too much’, you’re screwed.

A better question is, ‘Why doesn’t everyone in America have basic health insurance?’

The amount of money we spend taking care of the uninsured seems to me a powerful argument for some sort of basic universal coverage.

Oh, van-down-by-the-river, you’re showing up now with multiple health issues?

Never saw a doctor?

Geez, wish we could have seen you earlier, we could have prevented or managed your diabetes.

Oh well, now we’ll spend 3800% of what we need to because our government can’t quite get that lobbyist :censored2: out of their as

Yet, all the Dems running want to give FREE Healthcare to anyone who can get here. A huge motivation for Ilegal crossings, wouldn't you say?

How the :censored2: does that help our healthcare system?

Go figure...

Well, that makes little sense to me.

Why promise to non-citizens what we simply are unwilling or unable to provide to citizens?

Sigh
