The lapdogs are in a mini-revolt.

Washington (CNN) - Attorney General Eric Holder’s plans to sit down with media representatives to discuss guidelines for handling investigations into leaks to the news media have run into trouble.

The Associated Press issued a statement Wednesday objecting to plans for the meetings to be off the record. “If it is not on the record, AP will not attend and instead will offer our views on how the regulations should be updated in an open letter,” said Erin Madigan White, the AP’s media relations manager.

The New York Times is taking the same position. “It isn’t appropriate for us to attend an off-the-record meeting with the attorney general,” executive editor Jill Abramson said in a statement.

Like the New York Times and the Associated Press, CNN will decline the invitation for an off-the-record meeting. A CNN spokesperson says if the meeting with the attorney general is on the record, CNN would plan to participate.
The Huffington Post’s Washington bureau chief, Ryan Grim, also said he will not attend unless the meeting is on the record. “A conversation specifically about the freedom of the press should be an open one. We have a responsibility not to betray that,” Grim told CNN.

If Holder resigns, I will be surprised. I wish they would all resign, and elect someone like our Jones, who is fair and honest, and unbiased.
As it stands we will play this game for another 3 1/2 yrs, who did what, who said what and when. We will never get any answers, just like we still don't know why we haven't gotten money from the Iraqis oil wells to pay for the war.
We will keep spending our money on inquiries, stupid programs that only benefit most, those who do nothing. Waste, fraud, abuse. There is so much I cant keep up. I think those who know nothing feel better.

Toon,

I share the same toughts on what you posted but still believe Holder will resign --if for nothing else but to try to get some heat off Obama.

Corruption ---and I apologize to cach --but the "Chicago way " is certainly not the hope and change many of us believed in.

I believe this administration will be looked at in history as one of the most devious and corrupt.

I truly love the United States of America ---but --for the first time in my life I am ashamed of our country --afraid not of the Obama administration --but for the Americans that voted to keep him in office a second term.

I also believe that the second election was one of the biggest frauds in our history.

After the midterm elections Obama lost the house and realized how incompetent as a President he was.

A plan was developed through the liberal media ,the Irs and other government agencies to destroy the TEA party movement and suppress the vote --one of the main reasons Romney received millions of less votes by than McCain.

Holder obviously lying about his involvement with Rosen, Fox the AP --IRS officials taking the 5th plus giving disrespectful answers to Congress --the easter egg hunt--numerous--157 visits of the head of the IRS to the White House in five years --previous head only one --was asked many times by Republican Congressman about the TEA party investigations --but claims he "cannot recollect" talking to anyone in the W.H. about it ???

Everyone --RIGHT-MIDDLE and LEFT should be very concerned with a government stomping on freedom of the press and using the power of the government to threaten and punish average Americans .

Remember --Obama will not be in there forever --does the left want the same treatment from a out of control right wing Administration ???

I think both Holder and Obama are "me, me, me" people.
For Holder to resign for the sake of Obama is too generous for a "me" guy.
I too think he will resign.....but it'll really be because he can't take the treatment he will be getting from all sides.

First of all, get over it. YOU LOST the election with a weak candidate and an even weaker political party. You think your pissed now? Wait until you lose the house next year, then lose again in 2016. Your beloved political party is DOA brotha.

All the money in the world couldnt buy romney the election and the facts BEAR that out. Your party is doomed for failure. Party extremists have corrupted your beloved political party and those TEA PARTY morons are to blame.

A ship of fools never finds its destination, island.

Alledged scandals ringing everyday on FOX news has done nothing more than to overexpose the GOP as petty, fruitless and desperate. All the knuckleheads on fox news can make allegations all they want, yet none of them can prove anything.

Name calling and stonewalling, the GOP's only gasp at remaining a viable political party.

Your watching the end of your poltiical party and its a great sight to watch. I am enjoying every minute of it.

Dude shut the hell up huh? The same broken record was spewed regarding you :censored2:-bag liberals back I the 80's. Wake up and change the record bung hole it's skipping.

"Reagan won a landslide victory over incumbent president Jimmy Carter, with a 489-49 electoral vote margin, taking 45 states to Carter's five. For the first time in 30 years Republicans won control of the Senate. (The Democratics would get it back in 1986.) Seeking a second term in 1984, Reagan would do even better, with the biggest landslide victory in American presidential politics, winning 59% of the popular vote and taking 49 states to challenger Walter Mondale's one (his home state of Minnesota.) It's safe to say that the 1980s witnessed a reformation in the Democratic Party, as fiscally conservative "New" Democrats seized the reins from the old-style, New Deal liberals. It wasn't until 1992 that the Democrats managed to regain the White House, only to lose both houses of Congress two years later in the wake of Bill Clinton's ill-advised flirtation with "nationalized" health care -- a proposal far too reminiscent of New Deal liberalism to appeal to the American people."

The Reagan Presidency: An Overview

Why are you comparing the 80's republicans with todays GOP? They are not even similiar. Ronald Reagan couldnt even qualify as one of the extremist :censored2:bags of the right wing. You would CURSE ronald reagan yourself you aimless drone. Even people who worked with Reagan say the same thing.

Bob Dole says Reagan couldn't make it in today's GOP. Is he right? - CSMonitor.com

Reagan was inclusive of all people. He was a good politician, but a bad leader. His debt and deficits broke every record known to this country at the time and he left a legacy of fiscal disasters to follow.

Your beloved party of old white men went through a transformation, a transformation that has ultimately killed the GOP. A party of White people attempting to separate themselves from people of color. They were successful, and only now do they realize that.

For 12 years, the party of hate convinced all its white followers to hate on latins, blacks, asians and any other ethnicity that would qualify as a low income american. NOW, those same people are making up the majority of voters and the handwriting is on the wall.

Now, your beloved party has to teach YOU how to be accepting, unbaised, un-prejudiced and welcomming.

In this last election, BLACKS alone outvoted WHITES for the first time in history and that will crush the GOP for decades. Its all in the math my extremist friend. White parents are reproducing at 1.5 children each average in this country and MINORITIES are reproducing at 3.5 children each and what does that math tell you 50 years from now?

Attempting to somehow resurrect the Reagan era through todays republicans is laughable at best. You can thank George W. Bush for screwing your party beyond repair and you can thank the Boehners and McConnels for keeping your party in the political toilet.

America is progressing, and the progressive party is here to stay. Things are changing brotha. You may not like it, but that time is limited. Todays america will continue to advance in equality and status. The party of old white men running the country is over.

Get used to it.

Peace

Hands down the dumbest man on cable news.
Via WFB:

Rev. Al Sharpton brazenly stated on the Monday edition of PoliticsNation that there was “no evidence at all” connecting embattled Attorney General Eric Holder to any scandals while complaining that Republicans were trying to “bully” him out of office.

“The precedent that it would set for them to just bully an Attorney General out of office when there is no evidence at all that would lead to connecting him to any of these so-called scandals, I think that would take a long time for the American public to be able to overcome if we could just start bullying the top law enforcement person out of office when he’s not connected to any of these things,” Sharpton said.

Holder’s fingerprints on the Justice Department’s naming of Fox News correspondent James Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator in a leaks case strongly belies Sharpton’s claim.

And Holder is investigating her son’s death for possible federal charges against Zimmerman, isn’t he supposed to be impartial?

(AP) — The mother of slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will speak in Philadelphia at the National Urban League’s annual conference, which will focus on civil rights, voting rights and job creation.

The four-day event, which begins Wednesday, comes less than a month after the Supreme Court struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights Act and not long after the man who shot Martin was acquitted in the racially charged case.

The league is one of the nation’s oldest civil rights organizations. The conference, titled “Redeem the Dream: Jobs Rebuild America,” is expected to attract about 6,000 people and also focus on strengthening economic opportunities for African-Americans, CEO Marc Morial said.
