The personal choice to take the vax has been lost and has been blasted with every conspiracy theory imaginable by conservatives. Scroll any thread on the BC involving Covid. Nut jobs post everything from Hitler, communist plan , it's kill juice to depopulate, China & U.S. in it together, the plan is finally coming together, etc.
The mandate is a whole separate issue than the effectiveness of the shot itself. That gets lost. Maybe the pandemic is exaggerated, maybe it's not. In my circle, it's not.
The control they are trying to exhibit with the shot is a fact but that doesn't change the effectiveness of the shot, which is also a fact. Most people I know who are anti vaxers say this " Nobody is going to tell me what to do!" Even though they and those around them would benefit from the vax. Stupid.

Choice is what it's all about.
That doesn't mean one can't make the wrong choice for the wrong reason.

BrownFlush.. I’m all for a simple shot that ends all this madness. But the current vaccines do not seem to be doing that, meanwhile we have no idea what they do to us long term. We do know that short term a minority of people experience negative side effects up to and including death. While we have had many vaccines for a long time and most people generally accept them, this is a first of its kind sort of thing.. a gene therapy not a traditional vaccine. We don’t really know yet what the results will be five years on,,.ten.

So fine, call me “stupid” if you wish, to me it’s a simple choice after weighing risks and rewards. I will not call you “stupid” for choosing to get the jab in fact I’m happy you are allowed that choice.

What you are seeing in BC threads and elsewhere is the fully understandable push back to the hard sell behind the vaccine which in and of itself throws a lot of doubt on the whole “safe and effective” mantra.

When we live in an America where there is one, and only one possible way to deal with a disease and anyone caught saying otherwise will be censored and ridiculed, and those who choose to defy the orders of the leaders will be financially ruined aren’t we dealing with something worse than covid?

The mishandling of the vax by the government and the media does not change the effectiveness of the vax.
Stupid is what stupid does. This could be choosing to be vaxed. This could be choosing not to be vaxed. Nothing personal. But, what you allow to determine your choice, not you, can be stupid.
What I’m seeing on the BC is not so much pushback with choice, but absolutely nut job conspiracy theories or stiff necked comments like, No one is going to tell me what to do.
What determines one’s choice to get vaxed or not, I think at best, says a lot about them.

I don't see that. Many of us have posted real statements, testimony from scientists and doctors, interviews with them, copies of emails from the CDC and FDA and more. Very few conspiracy articles or Fox news links. Even Fox news pushes the vaccine and they never speak against it. I think even in this one thread there is more than enough data presented to at least have you question what the hell is going on.
