Our cats would never allow us to break up!
Probably because she's trapped in the middle of stinking nowhere
were actually on the edge of nowhere. The middle is a few hundred miles north. šŸ¤£

Weā€™re fighting to add that territory to our delivery area next contract. Still some areas on the road system where we use contractors. I think Catalina Island in California is only other US place not served by Teamster UPS Drivers.

I mean, you know, if I still work here then.

Really didnā€™t mater what the 6th Circuit said, losing side was going to appeal to the Supremes.

The 6th Circuit still has to do an en banc hearing. They have the votes to shut it down again. That will put things where they should be, no mandate, ball in Biden's court to appeal to SCOTUS, and SCOTUS to do their usual coward move and refuse to hear the case. Win for everyone but Biden.

If by pain in the butt you mean expensive then yes. UPS offers ā€œgroundā€ service to Alaska from lower 48 but it necessarily involves a trip by air from either Louisville or Ontario, California and the rates are not much cheaper than 2DA.

Sorry, but I donā€™t care anymore.

Amazon Prime, and Target Red etc all do well here because of the ā€œfreeā€ shipping. At tire changeover time our building looks like a tire warehouse! Every customers wants to tell you the story about how cheap the tires were compared to the local retail store... Iā€™m like ā€œYes, Iā€™ve seen this movie already!ā€ šŸ¤£

I read that whoever is handling the plaintiff side of it (not sure who is actually doing it) already appealed to SCOTUS, which you can do, but the 6th Circuit may block that (I'm not sure how that works, or if they can do that) since they aren't done, or SCOTUS will kick it back to them.

We end up using a post office
They said between 3 days and 3 weeks delivery. LoL
Yes and the PO will actually put trailers on the week long boat trip from Tacoma to Anchorage. We fly everything up.

I get customers all time who sadly had shippers choose ā€œSurepostā€. Unlike in the Lower 48 where Surepost gets delivered to local post office by UPS.. Surepost to Alaska gets delivered by UPS to the USPS in Washington state and goes on the slow boat. Then good lock if USPS actually delivers to your house or you have to drive to a central site and wait in line.

The whole ā€œdiverting Surepostā€ back to UPS canā€™t happen here because the packag is not sorted in our hub.
