Trump news – live: Furious Trump denounces special counsel appointment as ‘disgrace’ and ‘unfair’
Attorney General Merrick Garland has named Department of Justice veteran and former Hague war crimes prosecutor Jack Smith as special counsel to consider whether former president Donald Trump should face criminal charges.Mr Garland made the announcement at a news conference on Friday and said Mr Smith will focus on the possibility of charges stemming from the investigations into the January 6 Capitol riot and the Mar-a-Lago classified documents.
The former president slammed the move as the “worst politicisation of justice” and said: “I am not going to partake in it.”
The news comes just days after he gave an uncharacteristically downbeat speech announcing his intention to run for the presidency in 2024.

It's absolutely HYSTERICAL that the Republicans ran on a platform of "reducing Inflation" yet the VERY first thing that was announced when they learned they took the house is an investigation of Hunter Biden is at the very top of the To Do list
I hope your party spends the next two years investigating everyone they can rather than doing anything for the People who voted for them

If you don't already understand the difference between a massive government bureaucracy and the guy patrolling the streets in your city, then I can't help you.
Why’s that hysterical? One of the best things Congress could do to combat inflation is to stop passing multi-billion and trillion dollar spending packages. A Hunter Biden investigation doesn’t conflict with that method.
As if for the next two years the Republicans would be able to get any legislation passed. If there was nothing there concerning Hunter Biden then the Dems and the mainstream media wouldn't have gone to such lengths to suppress any news concerning him before the 2020 election.
