Howie Long’s son is not one to be trifled with.

It seems your argument is athletes were better in the 70s because there was a higher percentage of ditch diggers in the general population. That’s wrong.
No, my argument is that there was much more physical labor in the past than now with heavier duty equipment. While your argument that athletes have improved with better nutrition and training has merit there were more people of an athletic bent back then. My grandfather drilled water wells and the equipment then required much more physical labor compared to today's machines.

It will be fine

What does that have to do with professional athletes? They are better now.

That’s entirely subjective, I don’t see what value your believe has.

Typical LibTurd!
You beliefs have value and if someone disagrees wit ya, their beliefs have no value.
Jerk!!!
Value to the discussion at hand. If we were debating what color the sky was at noon and he said, “the orange at sunset is pretty.” It wouldn’t add value to the debate. We have data to determine if athletic performance has been getting better for decades. It has.

I was thinking that the only thing that could hurt the NFL would be a corruption scandal but even not sure that would hurt .

Corruption almost killed boxing even though it took almost 100 years. I followed boxing all my life but can not tell you who the heavyweight champ is.

It seems like college sports is heading towards paying the players. That's sad . I was upset with the dream teams with pro players in the Olympics but that happened because of all the cheating by other countries using pros. I thought why can't they just clean it up instead of giving in?

You were absolutely right when you said it comes down to money. It almost always comes down to money.

Nothing can be pure anymore. Maybe I am naive but I was lucky to grow up partially in the heyday of the major sports. Football, baseball, and basketball. Maybe it was a little earlier than I remember in the 60's. the 30's-40's-50's. There was probably some corruption of course but the money was not that big then.

Guess you’ve never heard of shoeless joe Jackson
