Two reasons I can think of...
1) projected continuing rising H&W costs.
2) disincentive to go in for a hangnail.

I can think of a few others that coincide with our union timeline.

It is what it is now, as I'm not dumb or delusional enough to think it will ever go back to the way it was.
I am searching for confidence in our future.

The cheerleaders and wannabees can chalk me up as a conspiracy theory/TDU heretic if they want, but I love my union and have spent a great deal of time and effort in service to it.
I ask what I consider to be real questions and I try to respect those who show respect.

I took it to also include annual deductibles.
He counted on most to not consider where this $99.09 was to be extracted and sold us on the premise that we would not accept anything less than what we had. That didn't work out for any of us starting in 2017, when we will all have an unprecedented annual deductible.
$200/$400 will be the tip of the iceberg.

A deductible costs nothing until you seek service. A co premium costs $$ even if you never see a doc. Deductibles are insignificant in comparison and reality in those with good health.
