Well, you see… this is very characteristic of UPS and has been happening since its founding in 1907. Drivers would be given over 200 letters a day to deliver by bicycle, and the supervisors expected them to deliver 30 letters per hour.

If the driver did not do this, he would be followed around by a man in a trench coat on a bicycle. This man would write warning letters and suspensions for each time the driver didn’t ring his bell and look over his shoulder before leaving a stop.

UPS opened the official Fayette Center in 1991,same year as HQ moving to Atlanta. This fearsome guy was in our building when it opened and he warned us we better be ship shape and not to embarrass him when the Bigwigs came to visit
