How much is the tax on your 300 acres?I live in Illinois. Trust me I understand.
Tax laws are changing a lot in Illinois. Currently I think only about $750 a month. But my ground is all pasture and woods. How much is the tax on your 300 acres?
Do they charge more for the first acre and then less for the rest?
$9000 / yr is not as bad as I thought it would be. It's more than that in Georgia.Tax laws are changing a lot in Illinois. Currently I think only about $750 a month. But my ground is all pasture and woods.
And that was last years taxes before I bought it. I wouldn't be surprised to see the taxes hit 3-4K within the next couple years.

That's why some people will plant a few pine trees and call it a tree farm or buy a cow or a few goats. Lots of those "farms" on my route.Farm land is only taxed at a fraction of what other land has to pay.
WTF?! I pay 4k on .17 acres lol.Tax laws are changing a lot in Illinois. Currently I think only about $750 a month. But my ground is all pasture and woods.

When we build I will likely pay 20k+ on a few acres
With fracking coming to the area soon I had considered it but I want to live on the ground and would rather not have that close.Have you ever considered owning a trailer park?

The cleared land for my house and the yard is maybe 1/4 acre ... all the rest is forest.
I've protested and filed objections twice and the additional acres are taxed the same as the first.
Been here 18 years and it still POs me when I think about it.
