The USA is the richest country on the planet, it’s unconscionable that 1 in 6 children in America don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

The government gives funds to the parents to make sure the children have food. If the parents spend it on other rulings, what do you propose the government do about that? How did Clinton destroy welfare for single mothers? There are plenty of single mothers on welfare and getting all kinds of government services. What he DID do was make the states responsible for disbursing the money and limiting how long people could stay on welfare, as well as requiring people to get jobs. FYI, as of 2012, 39.2% of aid a month goes for children.

there was a pretty cool new guy at my job who just quit and witnessed abuse of power while he was here.

before he left he couldve made a stink about it and fought for justice.

theres something wrong with him, and wrong with us.

ive learned thats asking alot

Right back at you, Ricky. Prove you are willing to do a little real research.
USDA ERS - Key Statistics & Graphics

Although children are usually protected from substantial reductions in food intake even in households with very low food security, nevertheless, in about 0.6 percent of households with children (220,000 households), one or more child also experienced reduced food intake and disrupted eating patterns at some time during the year.

Maybe y'all missed a decimal place in your earlier estimate, huh?

You and I will not agree regardless. I’m a firm believer in personal responsibility. And unless I’m mistaking you for someone else on here, you think the government should take care of everyone. I’m glad welfare is there to help people who can’t mentally or physically work or is needing a temporary hand up. I am totally against the government, whether state or federal, taking care of able bodied people their whole lives while I work my butt off.

yea i like the idea of people helping themselves and at the same time people helping each other. solidarity, putting yourself in other peoples shoes, the golden rule, justice.

i have problem with centralized power be it govt or capitalist or cop. but im sure we need a revolution for a system which actually works.
