I talked to a lot of people in the former Soviet Union. They all saw the U.S. as the gold standard that they hoped to live in someday. Some already had relatives who had moved here. There's a reason millions are trying to get into the U.S. through our southern border.

They're mostly willing to work long hard hours to succeed.
