Kettle bells, what exercises help for shoulder n low back muscle growin?

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
....and why would that be?

In your next post you seem to think deadlifts are the answer.

So I guess isolating a specific muscle group is useless?
Isolation exercises are by in large useless unless you're a bodybuilder. Compound movements are always better as far as body functionality goes.

Walking lunges one leg lunges and squats would all be good exercises too. And planks to strengthen the core.

That's all well and good but I bet he's not in his early to mid 60's and about to retire from UPS.

Can I get some of the vitamins he's taking?
Deadlifts will release more free testosterone than about any other lift. Should make you feel 10 years younger.

I understand what you and brownslave are saying.

I seriously doubt any of us will be pro-class body builders. I know the three major lifts work the global muscle groups.

I think it is a good idea to cross train and isolate occasionally. That's all I'm saying.

They aren't useless when you want to focus on a specific muscle group.
If you want to waste your time sure have at it. Which is better at growing muscle doing a kick back with 10 lbs of weight or a squat or deadlift with 300 lbs?

You also have the problem of training one area like the op states they'd like to do. Then you could create an imbalance and just shift where your problem is. It's like people doing crunches because they want to lose stomach fat. Uhhhh not really how that works.

You're way off base with that post. It's one of the most valuable ones

Not recently. Barbell row weighted chin ups are better for bicep growth. Although the bicep is a small muscle. Triceps make up 3/4 of ones arm size.

If I do curls it's usually to wear my biceps out before I work out back so I know my back muscles are doing most of the pulling.

Deadlifts are probably going to be your best bet for lower back muscle building. For my back, I do those in conjunction with about five different varieties of pull ups (10 wide grip, 5 narrow grip, 5 wide grip behind the neck, 5 shoulder width behind the neck, and 5 upside down).

Three sets of that cycle (the deadlift sets being completely separate though), along with core exercises. About two days later is when I really start to feel it setting in, all the way up from my lower back, through the lats and into the shoulders.
