How do you know there were any that didn't walk
I would think in a bldg. that large there would be more than 250 drivers.

It was a joke for realbrown1.The petition is a waste of time...What is ups gonna do with it, use it as toilet paper?
I know, 407It was a joke for realbrown1.
Could you Imagine if they pulled this crap 20 or 30 years ago? They drag you in the office for " no flashers" The steward would have pissed his pants ,from laughing so hard! What happened to our union?

Easy for you to say. You are probably not working in a building that plays LETS FIRE SOME DRIVERS TODAY.
You know what these guys have gone through for the last couple of years?
All I am saying is you haven't walked in their shoes, so I would go easy on the criticism.
Support our brothers and sisters at 804, or this treatment of drivers being fired for crap reasons, will be coming to your building.
Oh it's definitely coming to mine!! But WHY have they been going through this? Why isn't UPS this bad everywhere? Why 804? I don't think anyone is putting blame on the drivers at all. I'm blaming the judgement of 804. Not just in this incident, but in the past as well.Easy for you to say. You are probably not working in a building that plays LETS FIRE SOME DRIVERS TODAY.

Amen!! Teamsters is my union. There is non other.Yea but there is a right way and a wrong way to go about things. In real life there are repercussions and people with family's. They need to protect the family and this wasn't a good logical decision. Now the international is going to take the blame. I don't think so as far as I'm concerned. If TDU pounds stink and I will pound TDU on this forum.
And you are the antithesis of that. An anti-union TDU rooster gobbler. The TDU is like The Great and Powerful Oz. Once you reveal the man behind the green curtain, you really expose him for who he truly is. A con artist. Selling hopes and dream, elixirs and snake oils, in the hopes that you will need and believe them. The tell you what to do, then run and hide back behind that green, well maybe it's a RED curtain (some historians will get that). Go sell your TDU BS to the weak. I'll put my money on the Teamsters any day. Local 804, get rid of those guys. They will cost you everything, if they haven't already.Try telling this to Stink and the boys. Bunch of anti-tdu Hoffa butt kissers.
I'm not trying to take sides, but this whole episode seems to be people expecting a whole lot more than the union, any union can provide. Do you seriously believe that this is the only building that UPS plays "LETS FIRE SOME DRIVERS TODAY".
What I cant't see is how did it get to this point in this building? These employees should know, and certainly their officials should know, is that change is a long drawn out process, and the deck is stacked against the employee no matter how well the contract is written. The number one lesson of unionism is grieve now, take action later.
I remember long ago when we got the right to 8hr requests. If you got over dispatched, too bad, deliver till you are done. If you brought stops back you got trouble. It took years of grievances and documentation, and waiting, until we finally won through the grievance procedure the right to bring stops back if we are over dispatched on 8hr requests.
The only thing I've heard so far is that they want you to use the hand rail every time and put your 4ways on in a cul-de-sac, do you really think that this is different everywhere else? Is this building the only one UPS wants the employees to work as directed? If it is so horrible in this building, why are the drivers back to work at all? Why are they still not out and walking a picket line?
Once again, I don't want to take sides, I want to support these drivers, but you are going to have to come up with something better than the company is making them do stuff that everyone else already is contractually obligated to do.
So members voice would have been the better pick then?
So members voice would have been the better pick then?
The whole point of this walkout was to try to get ups to adhere to the contact. Pure and simple.
There are no real reprucsions for Ups when they habitually violate the contract. The contract is binding...but there are no enforceable penalties in regards to losing ones livelihood when it comes to the company.
Company Violation:
UPS supervisor Nelson Oz forgets to post the start times required by the contract. (Steward states "you are required to post the start times"
1st offense=nothing 2nd offense=<nothing 3rd offense=<nothing 4th offense=nothing 5th offense=nothing 6th offense=retaliation in return for you bringing it up again.
Work now grieve later is the golden rule Brother. If it was truly an unjust termination then the employee files on it and it is up to the BA to get the employee back to work with back pay (no matter how long it takes). If that does not work the Employee can seek legal advice if he was wronged. My concern is why did the BA need drivers to risk their livelihood for him not handling business? The BA should be smart enough to do it on his own and not rely on the members.... That is his job. The whole walk out in solidarity was impressive but not smart....... This is a game of chess not checkers, you can not jump steps and expect the IBT to save you. There is a reason the Navy Seals use the phrase "Slow is smooth..... smooth is fast”......... Because lives depend on making the right moves.Try telling this to Stink and the boys. Bunch of anti-tdu Hoffa butt kissers.
Any vote that wasn't for these guy was a good vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!
