Local 804 Drivers Walked Out

realbrown1

Annoy a liberal today. Hit them with facts.
As I have understood the situation, Liam called the strike because Reyes was a buddy and a big union supporter. If it was you or I, we wouldn't have the 250 to walk with us. Liam would have walked out of the building alone!

What if you do not understand the situation as well a you think you do? Sounds like you are just making assumptions.

Does anyone on BC not know why Liam got fired?
I didn't think so.

And as for being in over his head. You have had to deal with UPS before, right? They pull this crap a lot.

I still do no understand why Reyes was discharged and other drivers that started early the same days were not disciplined. There is no proof that the supervisor did or did not give any drivers permission to start early; yet many did and only Reyes was discharged. WHY???

Ah, member 6045, here you are responding to a post from realbrown1 and you accuse HIM of lying? He is criticizing Local 952 for depleting their treasury by almost $2 million. In making a comparison with Local 804, he looked at our LM-2 report for 2013 and saw net assets of almost $5.2 million. And you accuse HIM of lying?

You recently posted on the thread,This is why you don't let the Old Guard run your local And your post last Thursday at 5:12PM:

"Hmmm! 804 has been selling investments since the reformers have gotten into office to balance their book!! Check ours!"

Now who is it that is really lying here, member 6045? realbrown1 simply compared 804 favorably to 952 after reviewing our LM-2 and seeing assets of almost $5.2 million. YOU, on the other hand, without referencing the LM-2 or any other financial record, make the absurd claim that Local 804 has been selling investments to balance the books since the current officers have been in office! That's not just an exaggeration member 6045, it's an outright LIE and you don't even offer the pretense of documenting this absurd claim! What investments or assets were sold since 2010? Have you reviewed the books with the Trustees? Have you looked at the LM-2's? Have you even paid attention when the financial report is presented at the General Membership Meetings? You know the answer to that question as well as I do, member 6045! And you also know that the answer to that question makes YOU a damned liar! Just how far will you go to do harm to Local 804 and it's members?

Hi Tim! Give these drivers 50k til they get back to work since your your in such a giving good this weekend.

Buddy or no buddy he should have been the first one to get a pink slip not the drivers.Like he said in video it, is all on me,well that is not the way i see it right now when drivers that were involved are waking up everday not sure if they are going to have a job by the end of the day.I support our local i think these guys have there hearts in the right place and negotiated us a good supplement, but Liam has got to go to save face with the miserable company we work for, it should have been right away like i stated. We pay union dues to help save our jobs not to have reckless business agents lose our jobs for us.He has ruined his career with this local by making a decision that a person in his position should know he cannot make. No member will want him around whether this all pans out or not.

You, a union member, calling this a wildcat strike. Yes you are again.

What usually happens to the union members that go out on a wildcat strike? They are usually terminated.

So in one way or another, you are calling for 250 teamsters to be fired.

Is Hoffa's strategy on this to sacrifice those 250 drivers to hurt TDU?
No your putting words in people's mouths. The 250 drivers never needed to be in that situation to begin with. And second, what do you care about Hoffa? Your not TDU anyway.

Relax, not what I voted for. I'm convinced that you will be just as stupid when this is over as you are right now. I'm also aware that there is a process to be followed and I'm convinced that the Local 804 will follow that process to a satisfactory resolution. Please...don't accept the clear contract language because I said it is in place! Go to Article 18, Section 4 a) of the Local 804 Supplement and read it yourself! And by the way...I am very much a Teamster!

hey BS, u love to mention Article 18, Section 4, why doesn't this E.B. gather all 250 of the wives of the drivers that so far have & or will be fired, ( u know the ones that have or are about to lose their income & health benefits) & have either Liam or Sylvester explain Article 18, Section 4 to them, I'm sure they'll understand & get a very warm reception. " IN UNITY THERE IS STRENGTH", WE ALL WALK OR NONE AT ALL. THIS WAS A MONUMENTAL MISTAKE ON LIAM'S PART & HE SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE & ACCOUNTABLE.

So are you saying that because they are in this situation because of their own actions following Liam, that UPS should fire them?

Because they are in this situation.

Let me make it clear!! Two groups to blame. UPS and Liam. The drivers were following the man with supposed knowledge. If anyone needs to be chopped, it's him. Do you understand these words? Is it not clear enough? Have someone explain it to you.

UPS doesn't see it that way.

I was a driver for UPS and terminated in 2001, while I have been gone for quite some time; I remember clocking in and changing my start time only if approved by management. It would be a shame if this driver gets his job back, while some or all of the walk outs lose their positions. I just can't imagine UPS is going to allow a major precedence like this to be set. What would prevent this in the future if they back down this time? For the ones here who say his union representation was less than adequate, I say it's all a game and you're all pawns. My local union 822, used me as a bargaining chip and traded my job for several more senior drivers who had also lost their jobs at the same time. The VP of the local told me he would take care of me and get me a job at the local Ford plant, 13 years later and not a peep out of them. Please don't let the union brainwash you into thinking you cant be terminated, I'm here to tell you it can happen. I was a shop steward for these guys and they hung me out. Several years later the President of local 822 took a job on the west coast for a large corporation, he is now helping them fight the union that represents their employees.

On Friday april, 4 the company fired 26 more drivers on the same day local804 president took $10,000.00 from local804 accounts and border an airplane to Chicago to be present at the Labor Notes Convention.

Ladies and gentlemen! Introducing the president of Local804! Listen what Tim has to say closely! Wonder no longer why our members have to suffer for his arrogance!
