Meaningless Fluff

I don't get it. Maybe if it said "pseudo make me a sandwich..." Or would that be existentialist humor?:happy-very: Oh well, who cares? Three naked UPS drivers walked into the local union hall. One measure 8 inches, one measured 9.5 inches and the third measured a whopping 16 inches...oh...I don't have a punchline. Just bringing comedy back to a level that I might understand...maybe.:wink2:

Measure thrice, cut once?

And then the third one says, "I need help with this over 70!"

edit: Meh .. phoned that one in; I don't feel good about that.

That has been discussed more than once. The divorced kids, even though their parents make more, are getting all the free money. Welcome to America.

My on-car's daughter and mine both went to the same school. His EFC and bill were much higher. I have heard of parents getting divorced "on paper" to try to beat the system.

Tell the kids to start at the Wisconsin VTech School and take the first two years of college in a transfer program to UW schools.

Also, don't break the bank paying for college and foresake your own retirement needs.
They have more years of earnings ahead of them and taking responsibility for helping you in retirement may not occur.

English 201 is the same credit at MATC and WTC as it is at UWM, UW-Green Bay or Saint Norbert College.

Just the humble opinion of a Mount Mary College Graduate and Tier Three college drop-out repeater.

But that would involve them living at home for 2 more years. I'll opt for increasing their debts. Saints vs Packers. Opening Thursday I hope.

To be fair to your child, a lot of the scholarships here do require a fee but, if you work hard enough there are some freebies out there.

Scholarship night at school is coming up shortly. Both kids being straight A's, National Honor Society 3 years and Co-Valadictorians should get them a few local scholarship bucks. Any little bit will help. Oldest is graduating with 33k in debt. Tough to have your kid have more debt than you do. Such is life these days.

My daughter graduated with around $20K--son will have $25-30K.

My expected family contribution for 2 kids going to UW is $28,000 per year. Is my name Gates?:sick:
WOW! Culture shock. When I graduated UW back in '82 I believe tuition was around $800 a semester. Crammed 9 people into a house to save on room & board. Have a high school junior who is hoping to attend UW as well. Had better start saving a few more pennies.

Tuition is about $9700 and room and board about $7700 this year. Probably goes up 7 to 10 percent a year.

Not to keep derailing this thread but my kids just recieved notice today that they are finalists for the James R. Hoffa Scholarship. Top 250 out of 1500 applicants. More paperwork now required.

My daughter hates the Midwest weather. While in Dallas for spring break next week she is going to tour a couple of the universities in the area. Her dream is to attend either the University of Texas or the University of Hawaii at Honolulu after taking the basic courses at UW.

Stop derailing this thread!!

No, serious....you are a father and you are proud of your kids!!!

This thread has no rules.

I find it very refreshing that we have a safe place to come and say anything.

I recall a someone comparing a thread to a conversation at a dinner table.

Right now, we are at a BBQ at your house...

The cooler is getting empty and someone needs to make a beer run.
