Mine probably says that now, with the new peak going into January.(b) There shall be a free period, beginning October 15 and ending
January 15 the following year, during which no employee can qualify for seniority.

Here at least, if you look old and never try to work fast, they just put you on a piece of cake loop going out to the cattle farms. Why this job? at age 50

I have been hired for a Package Handler Job, Part Time, Perm. I have been through orientation and have been waiting for a call to start the job. It has been a month now. Anyone out there have any advice for me? Called HR a couple of weeks ago and was told I haven't been forgotten about.
ups jargon for that shift is preload
UPS driver jargon for preload is cluster.
How can you tell if you are a permanent hire rather than vacation or casual hire?Hate to break it to you, until you start working you have no seniority yet.
Then, it takes a minimum of 30 days to gain seniority. Hopefully they hired
you as permanent, if not you are seasonal or vacation replacement.

Most preload shifts are permanent because of the constant need for bodies for the grinder. How can you tell if you are a permanent hire rather than vacation or casual hire?
Thanks.
