More people quit the demoralizing management, than the heavy workload in grueling conditions.
Have you ever unloaded a 53' trailer sitting in a 100 degree heat all day with no ventilation at 1200 PPH and then the next one and then the next one with one 10 minute break for 4 to 5 hours or more? Or the sorter who has to know all of the zip codes and what belt to sort them to? Or the preloader loading 4 package cars at 220 PPH and over a thousand pieces in 4 hours while listening to the PT sup telling you to go faster, let the driver deal with the load quality. All for $15/hr at 4:00 in the morning. $300/wk minus taxes and Union dues. Only a knucklehead who has never done the work would say something so asinine. To deliver a letter without time constants, no problem. To deliver 20 stops per hour or 100 pieces per hour all day everyday for a career, problem.

Value of the healthcare of a part timer? About $1 million in less than a year. What's the value of your health care and other benefits?
BTW, what you're describing is exactly why it is a PT job for someone going to school, just starting out. Not some old man or woman.
Not only do that part-timers understand what their benefits a little bit of the full-timers do not understand eitherValue of the healthcare of a part timer? About $1 million in less than a year.
Good luck getting that at McDonald’sNot only do that part-timers understand what their benefits a little bit of the full-timers do not understand either
It was, but it isn't anymore....just sayin'What's the value of your health care and other benefits?

Also Values have shifted. many of the younger people have no desire to work 40 to 60 hours. It was, but it isn't anymore....just sayin'
If that is true I think the company could cough up a few more Dollars an hour in wages. LOLValue of the healthcare of a part timer? About $1 million in less than a year.
Seems like the last few contracts they have. And I have no doubt they will this time as many around the country are already making well over $20 an hour.If that is true I think the company could cough up a few more Dollars an hour in wages. LOL
Is that why delivery drivers are so opposed to working 6 days a week and double time after 9.5?Also Values have shifted. many of the younger people have no desire to work 40 to 60 hours.
Probably, I’m not huge on the sixth day. The money is nice, but if you make too much money, you just end up paying more taxes. And if you have a young family, you miss out on a lot of family time I’ve never complained about 9.5 I always have worked close to 10 hours a day. Everyone’s priorities are different. Is that why delivery drivers are so opposed to working 6 days a week and double time after 9.5?
Just to keep up with the states minimum wage in many parts of the country. So why not make starting PT wage $25/hr and yearly raises?Seems like the last few contracts they have. And I have no doubt they will this time as many around the country are already making well over $20 an hour.
Once you go full time and make $42 an hour?Just to keep up with the states minimum wage in many parts of the country. So why not make starting PT wage $25/hr and yearly raises?
Because you have to negotiate that. And the company will tell us it’s a total benefit package that’s been well over $25 an hour out of UPSs pocket.Just to keep up with the states minimum wage in many parts of the country. So why not make starting PT wage $25/hr and yearly raises?
You can’t ask him that because he still part time.Once you go full time and make $42 an hour?
Because you don't. Had a PT making $20/hr with the MRA drop down to $16/hr when he took a 22.3 job. Of course in 4 years he will be making good money but not $42/hr.Once you go full time and make $42 an hour?
The way you manipulate the contract would not fly hereBecause you don't. Had a PT making $20/hr with the MRA drop down to $16/hr when he took a 22.3 job. Of course in 4 years he will be making good money but not $42/hr.
Because 22.3 doesn’t pay 42 an hour. Closer to $36 an hour. Still pretty good money.Because you don't. Had a PT making $20/hr with the MRA drop down to $16/hr when he took a 22.3 job. Of course in 4 years he will be making good money but not $42/hr.
