Not for now, more interested in how you rationalize 33% "disenfranchising" the other 66% in a democratic system?
Democratic system LOL. Yeah all of the PT Union members voted for a minimum wage and $41/hr for delivery drivers. Not saying it happened overnight but over the last 40 years. Just like what is currently happening to delivery drivers and the 25% 22.4 delivery jobs with no OT protection. You and I may not see it but it will happen. With the Union members vote.

Have you ever unloaded a 53' trailer sitting in a 100 degree heat all day with no ventilation at 1200 PPH and then the next one and then the next one with one 10 minute break for 4 to 5 hours or more? Or the sorter who has to know all of the zip codes and what belt to sort them to? Or the preloader loading 4 package cars at 220 PPH and over a thousand pieces in 4 hours while listening to the PT sup telling you to go faster, let the driver deal with the load quality. All for $15/hr at 4:00 in the morning. $300/wk minus taxes and Union dues. Only a knucklehead who has never done the work would say something so asinine.
Did every job you listed

I know this Forum is open to all UPS employees both Union and company and retirees but it feels like the company members have taken over for negotiation purposes. They say follow the money and the company has Billions of Dollars in stake to influence the outcome of negotiations.

That’s why part timers aren’t taken seriously.

Then stop complaining about it and enforce it even if you’re not happy with the one you have now, it will create strength throughout the membership and leader ship. Your rights should be protected under the contract, but you should not be given special treatment, nor should a part-timer be continually doing full-time work. It violates the spirit of the language.
He won’t rock the boat. Gotta good gig.

Pretty eff'd up.
Edit....Not directed at you, but it sucks that a family's health care is jeopardized by this. The decision to cross or not cannot be made objectively because of the risk.
I wonder if this is legal since the company is the one paying for the insurance?

Was he ok with that

@PT Car Washer … I know you are under the Central and have over 35 years service as a Part Timer. All those years that you worked over 1,800 hours are still considered part time, you do not get any credit or monetary benefit once you hit that 35 year service level. The Company is not paying a dime into your pension plan once you hit that plateau.

I understand why you never signed for a full time position, once you win a full time bid under the IBT/UPS (Central and Southern) your part time years are frozen and you begin to start getting vesting credits under the IBT/UPS pension plan as a full timer. Sure those years as a part timer qualifies as a vested year, but your monetary benefit is adjusted according to each separate formula. The six percent penalty before age 65 is the killer, that applies to each pension plan you would be under.

Years ago we had a part timer retire with 20 years part time and 10 years full time and found out he would have been better off staying part time for 30 years. I believe he was under age 55,
Both his service times under both plans were reduced over 60 percent.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out with our negotiation committees.
