Thanks @Brownslave688 and @oldngray, now I see why one of my drivers laughed when I answered his question about whether I wanted to drive or not by saying I wanted to haul the semi's between hubs. From what I've read here feeder is a pretty high seniority position, no way I'm going from preload to that.

A few feeder drivers are hired off the street but your best shot to go full time is as a package car driver. The work is a lot harder than feeder driver so many older packager car drivers bid into feeders.
