Do you want to hear my theory about San Clemente Island and how I think the land mass in the ocean splits the storms and sends the rain north to L.A. and south to San Diego? We only get spritzes instead of deluges.

Oh yeah I could totally see that. I live about 35 miles east of the Mississippi River. The same thing happens here. What is terrible storms on the other side of the river often break up and are just rain storms by the time it gets here.
