We discussed planting a wisteria in the back somewhere between the patio stones and the fence. I'm guessing it will need some kind of lattice work or trellis to climb?

I never had very good luck with wisteria. Once it gets established it can grow wildly though.

I'm flexible with the wisteria. It does real well down here. We went to Louisiana a while back and there was was a plant growing along side of the road that was probably 30 ft tall. don't know how old it was, but it was nice.
