They say never to spray it directly onscreen. You were under that impression because those people want to sell that $25 product. Windex is the best all-around cleaner for the house....with the exception of things like mold in the shower. Then, bleach is another cheap product.

I once asked the window washer at a major store once about the solution in his bucket......water and a few drops of dish liquid. That and a good squeegee & elbow grease and you're in business.
