I would get at least two. That way you could do the two different way.
Pork isn't usually too expensive.
And order a pizza in case you cook it like @Big Arrow Down...D
Don't forget the beer. Can't grill without beer.

Pork is the best to learn how to barbecue. Not real expensive and very forgiving. When I do tenderloin, I lay smoke on them for a couple hours then I lput on the bacon and wrap them in foil. I put them in the grill with INDIRECT heat at 225-250 for a clue hours. If possible, put the rub on the night before so it can soak in.
