I have a 9 inch Zwilling-J.A.Henckel my wife bought me for Christmas a few years ago that was around 120 dollars. I also have a Japanese forged carbon-steel Lion General that I rescued from my MIL's utensil drawer years ago. Ten inches, and with a minute or two with my butcher steel, you could shave with it. Best knife ever and you can sometimes find them on ebay.
